My AC15H1TV is off to Don to work his magic on it...

I sent my AC15H1TV off to Don today to have him do his upgrade to it:
AC-15: Replace signal path components, reduce filtering, replace output tranny with Mercury Axiom clone and add a Mercury Axiom choke. Convert rectifier to accommodate GZ-34 as well as the stock 5Y3.
He said it would be a couple of weeks before he could get to it. It's gonna be a long, hard wait...

It will be well worth the wait, believe me. ;)

Thanks and please know I'll do my best to keep the time short but keep the quality of my work to a maximum.

Thanks Don! Take your time and enjoy the holidays. I'm off to visit the outlaws, er in-laws in Phoenix. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Bob

Be sure to tell us all about it when you get it back Bob. Don works magic on tube amps. ;)

Any day now... Don had some health challenges over the holidays and then there was a mix up in the Mercury order. He says he's got the trannys in hand and my amp is next up, so... Can't wait!!!

Don's hoping to ship Monday, but with the holiday my guess is that will be delayed until Tuesday. Since I'm just down I5 about 120 miles or so, I'm hoping it should be here Wednesday.

You've obvioulsy never driven the I5 between San Diego and LA - the most traveled freeway in the country. It's counterpart, the 405 has the nickname 4or5 cause it'll take you 4or5 hours to get anywhere! No, if I don't have to drive north to LA, I don't.

Bob; FedEx Ground is picking it up on Monday!!
They will email you the Tracking # It's a nice sounding amp. I hope you're pleased with it. BTW, give the output tranny around 20 hours of playing time for it to break-in( that doesn't mean turn the amp on and let it run... ;) It means you have to play thru it for the x-former to open up and break-in..
But, should sound much better right off the bat. As well, the Sozo Vintage Series caps I use need a few hours as well. Hopefully you won't have any problems, but if you do please call me. I would replace the Sovtek EL-84's... I played it for a while before I packed it up. Sounds pretty nice!
Thanks again!

I once hitchhiked down the 5 from Buena Park to San Diego. That sucked.
