It's a rare and early Parker Fly Hard Tail in virtually mint condition. Just some swirl polishing which could be original to the guitar. What I love about these hard tails is that they don't have the giant plastic trem access panel. I think they look so much better that way.
Basswood neck, Poplar body, Dimarzio humbuckers and a Piezo bridge with blend-able pickup options. Super lightweight with stainless steel frets and a carbon fiber skin. Includes original soft case and original, rarely used stereo dual cable.
The most versatile guitar I have ever owned. Things are tough and I must sell. I play more bass nowadays.
$1,400 shipped USA only. Insurance additional

EDIT: Apparently this guitar is rarer and more valuable than I thought. STAY TUNED. There is a bidding war going on, on the exact same guitar on e-bay with 6 hours to go. It's up to $1,300 already. We shall see.

Guys, if you know anybody who might be interested, please let me know. Thanks.
I'm going to post this on the Parker Forum later today. These guitars are so hard to price. Rarity and condition are key, as in most guitars, but there is a lot more with Parkers and I can't begin to understand the differences. New ones are not made by Ken Parker anymore and are no where near as sleek and well made as these. The new ones cost big bucks and they are not as good.

That's a great looking guitar Epi. I'll mention it to everyone I can think of.

Shame you have to sell it.

Thanks Bob. It is an awesome guitar but I don't play it. It's a perfect guitar for a guy who plays out and needs versatility, from acoustic guitar sounds to full blown electric. Plus, it's virtually indestructible, easy on the back, and you can never wear out the frets even if you bend the crap out of your strings. The neck is super thin and sleek and very fast.

I just found out on the Parker Forum that it's a 1993 Parker Deluxe. They were introduced in 1992 so this one is really early. Hope I'm not making a mistake.

I have had a bunch of interest on this one already. Probably priced it too low.

It will sell quickest on Evilbay. Have a minimum and make sure it covers the new stupid ass Ebay fees and all that.

Thanks, I heard the new breed is not as good as the originals, which new ones are?
This is really Ken Parker and Larry Fishman's baby. First full year of production.

I have never sold anything on flea bay so I don't know what all the fees will be.

They have some new ones, so it will be more expensive today then it would have been a few weeks ago.

Sold for $1,300 plus shipping. Auctions that end during the day really suck. It's the night ones that get hot and heavy. Somebody got a great deal even if it did have the weak first generation pickups.

Epi I'm still using my friend's Parker Fly Artist its a great guitar.
The only thing is that I'm not bonding with it the people that I
play with we do 60's music and it just doesn't sound right. This
past Tues-Wed-Thurs for six hours a day I was working with the
local police dept teaching them there self-defense. Now getting
back to the guitar after all this time I found the my guitar its a
60th Anniversary Fender Standard Telecaster I should have the
money by the end of July. Then I can give back the Parker to my
friend 8-)

It requires someone to really take the time to learn how to use all of it's abilities. My friend Ray played this guitar on stage with Steve Howe on his solo tour and it sounded perfect.

I've had a soft spot for them since I saw Hurt. Their singer/guitarist uses one. It sounded great.

$1300 ain't so bad.

Epi when your friend Ray played with Steve what Amp did he use
to get the sounds that he wanted :?: When I go to GC with the
Parker I try different Amps and nothing sounds good. I don't
know if its the Amps or the guitar sometimes I think it sounds
sterile and has no warmth.

Ray always played through a Mesa head and cab. Everything sounds good through it. The Parker sounds great through my vintage Ampeg V4 stack and my Marshall Valvestate 100 too. Don't forget it has the generation 2 DiMarzios which are great pickups designed specifically for the Parker.

Epi in band pratice I play thru a Vox with a 10in speaker
and I think its a Bass amp. I also have the volume all
the way up because the drummer is behind me. At home
I still have the little Dean Markley that you gave me.
Another friend gave me a (Esteban)G-10 to use. Its
not that good and I put 10's on the Parker. Yesterday
I went to our local GC and played a Telecaster it was
Ok but it didn't feel right. Now there is one at Daddy's
Junk Music that I have played and that one feels right.
The friend who letting me use the Parker wants $1600.00
used it from 1997 its the Artist. I think that he wants to
much money where the Telecaster at Daddy's is $1100.00.
I haven't played thru a Mesa so the Parker may sound better
thru that amp. On the Parker forum a lot of those people play
thru a Mesa and they seem to get a good sound. That guitar
is the best playing guitar I have played the neck is so easy 8-)
I'll try the Mesa up at Parkway Music.

I don't think anyone argues that the Parker is one of the easiest and best playing guitars, I think it's getting used to all the knobs and switches to get the sound you want that's the harder part. Guys with back problems love them too because they are light as a feather.

Epi
You are right when you say that's very light and easy to play.
The one that I'm using has Gen 1 pickups and I don't really
like them. In my head I'm hearing (James Burton & Carl Perkins)
and I don't know how to get that type sound out of a Parker. Even
if I were to buy the Parker that I'm playing now the next thing would
be what (Amp) to get those sounds. The one Amp that I really like
is the Tone King-Galaxy but at $3590.00 to that's a lot of money.
I have played the 60th Anniversary Telecaster and it feels right
yet it would be to hard to compare the Parker and a Fender
Telecaster. I did play the Parker thru a Tone King at Lark Street
Music and it did not sound that good then I played a Telecaster
thru the same Amp and same settings and the telecaster sounded
better. The only Amp that made the Parker sound good was a Victoria
clone of the Fender 57 Twin Amp.

Thanks. I was beginning to think it would never sell. It's such a beautiful guitar. I will miss it but I really need the dough and it's a shame for it to be sitting around unplayed. The guy who bought it said his dad had this guitar and was always sorry he sold it. I'm sure he will be really happy with it.
